Who Am I

Kandice Head is a storyteller, strategist, and brand architect with over a decade of experience spanning content creation, design, narrative development, brand strategy, and media relations.

A proudly queer, Black, fourth-generation Chicagoan, she brings an intersectional, justice-rooted lens to her work, crafting narratives that drive impact, elevate underrepresented voices, and support social change. She has led communications and branding efforts across philanthropy, advocacy, and the arts, and currently serves as Director of Marketing and Communications at the Chicago Foundation for Women.

Her past roles include work with Ogilvy, the Forum for Youth Investment, and the Funders’ Collaborative on Youth Organizing, where she shaped public-facing narratives and strategic messaging. Beyond marketing, Kandice is a published poet, book coach, and board member of the Chicago Poetry Center, supporting anti-racism and communications initiatives.

She holds a Bachelor of Journalism in Strategic Communication from the University of Missouri and works at the intersection of branding, storytelling, and movement-building, shaping narratives that imagine and build more just futures.
